Tom Furst is the founder of FurstSearch. He has spent over 40 years in the recruiting and search business. As Founder, Tom has guided the company to serve a national customer base and enjoys a reputation for excellence in management search. His personal recruiting efforts include chief executive officer/executive management, board of directors, senior level marketing and financial executive searches.

Tom’s personal efforts have been largely focused on closely held, private/family companies. He has spent extensive time in Boards of Director structure development and function. He provides many client CEO’s with counsel on the subject of corporate team configuration and improvement.

Tom is active in the community, serving on the Board, Executive Committee, and Finance Committee of the Rosecrance Health Network. He stepped down as Board Chair in July 2013, after eight years of service. He also currently serves as a member of the Foundation Board of Directors that helps support Rosecrance.

Tom sits on the not-for-profit Boards of Anderson Japanese Gardens Foundation, the Frank Lloyd Wright/Laurent House Foundation, and the Louis Franchini Police Foundation.

In addition, Tom serves on three corporate Boards of Directors.

Previous Board service includes Rockford University, YMCA, Rockford Chamber of Commerce, Boone County Arts Council, New American Theater, Rockford Art Museum, Rockford Symphony, Pearle Fine Foundation in Nashville, TN, and Cures Within Reach of Chicago.

Tom received the 2009 Jasper G. Chen See MD Volunteer Leadership Award at the Annual Conference of the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers. In 2014 Tom received The Castle Award from Rosecrance Health Network for personal dedication and philanthropic leadership.
